Work advances on playground at Wood River Recreation Center

The poles for the main section of a new playground were being placed into their pre-dug holes Wednesday morning near the Roundhouse and new Wood River Recreation Center. Workers from Custom Playgrounds, Inc., in Rockford, were sorting the poles before starting assembly on the section. Some parts have already been erected like climbing equipment and an eight-child swingset but the playground won't be open for some time.
