Wolf Tooth Components reintroduces Morse Cage Stainless Steel bottle cages!

Jun 14, 2023

After a brief hiatus, they’re back. Morse Cage stainless bottle cages just made a comeback, landing on the market with 304 stainless steel, a widely adjustable dot-dash-dot mounting pattern, and compatibility with Wolf Tooth's B-RAD storage system.

The steel cages weigh 58 grams. While WTC has continued production of the titanium cages, the stainless steel version took a little break. But now the much more affordable option is back on the shelves.

Lighter titanium entries (33 grams, roughly the weight of "two DVDs!") come in an array of finishes that range from basic to stunner. Optional anodized bolts help you bedazzle your build-out as much as you want.

Wolf Tooth bends each cage by hand in its Minnesota workshop, and the result fits right into its B-RAD (Bottle Relocation and Accessory Device) storage platform. In essence, the patented design gives MTB riders and bikepackers options to mount bottles away from rear suspension components and seeks to open up more frame space for storing bags, tools, tubes, etc. Morse Cages have 32mm of vertical adjustment built into the cage itself, with the dot-dash pattern guaranteeing that the cage can't slip once mounted in place.

From there, B-Rad Mounting plates in various lengths add the potential for even more adjustment. From there, Wolf Tooth also offers roll-top bags, and a strap.

End result? Something like the photo below, where the B-RAD 2 drops the Morse Cage below the standard position to give extra clearance between the bottle and the frame bag.

The standard 304 stainless steel Morse Cage costs $30 MSRP. You can also get a titanium Morse Cage (33 grams, roughly the weight of "two DVDs!") for $70 or the various candy-painted entries for $85-90.
